Babies need their mums. Dads are more important when the kids are older, say about 6 yrs up, but a lot depends on the actual personalities involved

"A privilege place mothers are given by society"? And these guys, with a Phd, get paid to do these studies. Even baboons know rank in the family hierarchy. Females give birth, and nurse the young - no brainer here.
