Here is the original intro for the TV show The Metal Prince Of Bel-Air. This is from the un-aired pilot of the show that was revamped and went on to become The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air when Will Smith decided to change his musical direction and left metal behind to concentrate on rap.
Copies of the full un-aired pilot are incredibily rare (this intro is all I have managed to salvage, I found a stack of burning video tapes in a dumpster behind the NBC studios), this is indeed one of TV's lost gems. I have been lucky enough to see the full show once though, so a few notes :
Instead of wearing hideously bright clothing and favouring the fade as the hairstyle of choice, Smith wore all black, had long, unwashed hair and only went outdoors if he was wearing corpsepaint. All photos and videos of him from this period have been destroyed.
Instead of spending his time getting into hilarious situations, being deliciously charming to all and sundry, clashing culturally with his straight-laced cousins and other assorted hi-jinks, the majority of the planned first season for this show featured Smith alone in his bedroom with the curtains closed while listening to 80's thrash metal at ear-bleeding volume and bemoaning the fact the girls didn't like him and no one understood him.
His best friend in the pilot wasn't Jazz as played by DJ Jazzy Jeff, but a bloke called Dave played by a young, pre-fame Marilyn Manson.
Geoffrey the butler, in an attempt to be both heavy metal and classically British, was played by Ozzy Ozbourne in full blackface make-up. The decision to play the character as a sort of refined-yet-bumbling Al Jolson ("Would ya like a cup of fookin' tea Master William?") was attributed to Ozzy not knowing what the fuck he was doing for most of the late 80s/early 90s and the fact that even then he would do anything to get away from that fucking wife of his.
The plot of the first episode featured Will getting into trouble for teaching Ashley how to throw the devil's horns and cheekily carving the Slayer logo into her arm with a kitchen knife. The little scamp.
Yes, we will never see the likes of this show again. Rest In Peace, sweet Metal Prince.

@USMCplusMETAL It's called Full Metal Contact by Fear Factory. It was a bonus track on the special edition of their Digimortal album, I don't think it appeared anywhere else.
