  • @viking5544 You're missing the point, I don't understand why I even comment on these things. Maximal strength is moving a much weight as possible there is no consideration to time. Power is strength over time.

  • @cannonbulk yea ok i understood brah i get what you mean just sayin' you are right the strongest the athlethe is the better he is... assuming his lifts are legit but yea

  • Cannonbulk - learn you some. Seriously, its impossible to move heavy weight slowly. Sounds stupid, but you try to lift 95%+ without pushing as FAST as you can. It just doesn't happen. Explosive power is a huge part of powerlifting. There's some vids of Andy bolton teaching the DL on here somewhere. Watch how fast he pulls.

  • @muzimuzi You're missing the point, I wasn't saying that power-lifters are not powerful just that the sport doesn't focus on power, it's main focus is maximal strength.

  • @cannonbulk well ok i guess ofcourse guy who can C&J 220KG could eaisly deadlift 220KG with an enormous speed but still both sports focus on strength and expolsivness. powerlifters do have "speed days" where they only lift "light" weights for speed

  • @muzimuzi We're talking about the lifts, clearly the more strength you have and the lighter you weigh the more explosive you'll be, but Power Lifting does not focus on power, it focus's on strength and Olympic lifting focuses on speed. I'm not saying either group are not powerful but the very nature of a p-squat, deadlift or bench is just raw strength. Speed is not an element, unlike a snatch or a clean where you have to generate the force quickly and catch the bar.

  • @cannonbulk well yea but obvoiusly a guy deadlifting 700 pound for xample could eaisly "explode" his way up with 400 pound so yea PL ARE explosive

  • @kendalself probably the same guy

  • What's up with the steroids are for losers guy. I don't do steroids but i don't see what the issue is. These guys do what they want to get as strong as possible. Quit being a hater

  • no straps nice!
