People dont realize how much their daily lives can affect the environment. Activities such as sleeping, eating, and travelling create big unwanted carbon footprints. While we sleep, there is a ton of energy being consumed. By turning down the thermostat, unplugging outlets, or switching off the lights, we can help lower our carbon footprints. Eating foods such as meat and vegetables also increase our footprint. Meat such as beef increases the methane that is emitted into the atmosphere through the cattle. Transporting produce to grocery stores and using fertilizer sand pesticides have negative effect on the environment. By eating less meat and buying produce from local grocery stores, we can help reduce the effect we make on the environment. Also, actions such as driving to work or school increase the carbon that is emitted into the air. Taking public transportation, walking, or biking can reduce carbon emission. The little steps we can take as individuals will produce a better outcome for our society. Together following these simply ways of reducing our carbon footprint can help us live sustainably and decrease our impact on the environment.

  • AL GORE! AL GORE! AL GORE!

  • I think it's great you gals care about what you eat and taking care of your part for smart choices for the earth. I also think your research is limited and not clear. The effect that animals (that have been on the face of the earth longer than humas) have on the greenhouse gas emmisions, and the fact that flourescent bulbs are cheaper on the budget but bad for the environment (check out how to dispose of one..) are interesting thoughts but - not good answers for our global situations..sorry

  • Don't forget...

Each Child You Don't Produce Saves 1,297,000 tons of CO2 for the lifetime.

    TOO MANY PEOPLE ! ! !

    Think. Thank you ! ;)
