This is the new Sega Ages for the PS2. It's a brilliantly obsessive conversion of the classic Sega arcade game, they just don't make em like this anymore! T_T

  • Is there an EU PAL release of this disc? Can't find any info on it. I used to love the hydraulic cabinet!

  • @Roodwurm I don't think there was one I'm afraid. I loved the hydraulic cabs too! ^^

  • Hey nice vid buddy! But couldnt you cut your options / controller config beeing made on the next videos out? :s

  • @mayhemtv This is not something I normally do. It was just that in this particular game, the wealth of options was so great I wanted to show it. It hammers home how much thought has gone into it.

  • Im sorry, i love the graphics and all...but i REALLY dislike what they did to the good ol music..

  • This is the remix version of the music from the FM Towns version. You cen freely select streaming or chip generated original arcade version music aswell.

  • Giant centipede.... flying and shooting like crazy... wait, this isnt Team Andromeda, right ? Anyway , looks like an awesome classic :D thanks for sharing

  • Wow, I forgot how how impressive this game is. Especially for the late 80s.

  • I just bought this for 3$ from amazon download :)

  • @Saur, thanks for the response. Playing this at home would of course not be the same thing, but at least be a great souvenir or keepsake of some sorts.

  • Outstanding conversion!

  • Now this is interesting. This isn't a straightforward translation of the arcade, but altered to use the PS2 visual style. You can see this on the lava planet. It's an interesting choice, but I really do prefer the original 1988 graphics. Today's games overuse transparency and lighting effects. There isn't as much weight to those graphics; it's too watered down. Anyway, thanks a lot for the video, great playing!
