Boris FX Uprez test

Shot with a Casio Exilim FH-100 at 120fps. The FH-100 shoots 120fps at 640x480 resolution (the faster ones shoot even smaller) so I tested out the Boris Uprez plugin to HD'ify it. It does a better job than a host scale and the difference can be (hopefully, I don't know if Youtube will mess it up) seen in the fine detail of the lighter.

@AgonizedCandle You can get only the Uprez filter for 99 dollars. There's also a trial version of it so you can test it out if it doesn't work like you imagined.

Hey hope you get this. Do you know if the Uprez is capable of taking 1080p and upscaling it to 2k or 4k resolution? Thanks.

Hello,

The Uprez plugin has presets for 2K and 4K. You can also use custom scaling to fit different resolutions with different pixel aspect ratios. It doesn't do miracles, but it's better than the usual scaling in NLEs or whatnot.

@Terjay Very cool. My idea was scaling 1080p to 2k or 4k then perhaps rendering it back to 1080p so it may look sharper. Have you tried that or know what I mean? Thanks.

It would be easier to just sharpen the 1080p footage with a sharpening plugin or effect.

It's a neat camera for the price. Of course it won't match those €/$ 10K+ high speed cameras, but it's really fun to play around.
