Ghostbusters 2 Sound Revamp

For a university project i had to rebuild the sound from a 5 minute piece of film. I chose the Ghostbusters!

English accents were done on purpose to make it more interresting and our american accents sucked. Its just us experimenting with sounds which are all created by me. I even wanted to create all the sounds of the equipment and not use the real proton noises.( Not learning that way am I eh?)
Early stages for sound design..was a good learning process.

It taught us a lesson on why we should appreciate the type of soun recording equipment we should use ( i used the mic off a camera on this one...) and what the sound levels should be.

This isnt a good example of my abilities but I thought it might prove entertaining to Ghostbuster fans so enjoy!

Fantastic recreation, esepcially on the proton packs.

But you couldn't have chosen a harder movie if you tried. Well possibly the battle scene from Return of the King ^_^

thanks for the kinds words. But im happy to say ive really progressed in sound design and from the quality of the sound produced in this vid. But I remember being told that this film like alot of the 80's films had too many sounds layered on each other....Thats what i was told anyways lol

No problemmo bud, out of curiosity, when they asked you to rebuild sound from a movie, do they also ask you to do stuff with the surround as well? like choosing sound from the back Etc. As I think GBII was only a Stereo movie, one of the last big screen Stereo movies infact.
