[Non/Disney] Miguel/Jane - My Heart is Missing You

I've been going through a bit of a dry spell Non/Disney wise and managed to scrounge this little one up from somewhere. The song choice basically killed me because I really don't love Avril. At all. I despise her, but it fit the idea I had so I used it anyway. It's mostly how I would imagine Jane feeling while remembering.



Description:
Jane (Empress Marie) is recounting her greatest secret to her daughter, Anastasia. She tells her of how her brother was killed when their ship caught fire and she was stranded in a isolated jungle far from her home in England. While wandering, she's found by Miguel, a leader of a tribe of people who view him as their god-come-to-earth. He takes her in, teaching her about the land they live upon. Although hesitant and petrified at first, Jane quickly warms up to him, eventually falling in love with him.
Just as she is becoming content with her new life, a group of men, including her father, storm the jungle in order to find her. She's relieved at first, happy to see her father and missing her homeland, but soon realizes that she might have to give up Miguel. She goes to him, begging him to return with her. He refuses, angry that she would think about leaving him after all they had shared together.
When the day comes for her to depart, one of Miguel's advisors urges him to go after Jane, knowing that he is in love with her. Miguel refuses, watching Jane row away. On the rowboat, Jane's father urges her to forget her time there, assuring her she'll be happy when she's home. Unsure, she argues how happy she was in her jungle home. She takes one last look to Miguel, standing on the shoreline, when one of her gloves catches the wind and flies back. She watches him pick it up and turn his back on her. The act decided it for her, and she climbs aboard the ship that will take her home, only to immediately regret it when she's forcefully taken below deck, where her father explains to her that is necessary, because of her previous arranged marriage with the future emperor. Horrified, Jane can only stare.

Years later, Jane has married to the Emperor and had a young daughter Anastasia and is happy enough with her life. She has never spoken of Miguel to anyone since she got off of that boat.
Back to the present, she remembers Miguel. Anastasia is quiet. 
Later that night, before entering a ball, Jane pulls Anastasia aside. She then reveals her real secret is not her time with Miguel. It was that Anastasia was Miguel's daughter. "He was my secret."
