The sun was up in a clear blue sky at 04:30 hrs and I dashed out to catch the low morning light shining on the aptly named 'Grassy Banks' (a local attribution I'm assured by Franky & Johnny) as I positioned the easel looking South towards 'Foxholes' clouds appeared relatively quickly and stayed... the light was consistently flat for the entire day. However, I sketched the tide as it imperceptibly rose in and dropped out of the bay.
After four small sketches I chose to work up a 4'x3' following the earlier vertical format describing the effect of a high viewpoint between the gorse bushes.
On the grassy banks
Lambkins at their pranks;
Woolly sisters, woolly brothers
Jumping off their feet
While their woolly mothers
Watch by them and bleat.
I love the videos and especially the artwork! Do you start with primary colors and then add varieties after? What are you using to paint with, acrylic? seems that it is drying fast, so can't be oil?

As always, wonderful of you to share such moments with the world. You are a master of the open-landscape, in other words, I feel your brush is most impressive when you are given a large plane of subject matter to render, such as sky, field, or expansive cliff. This is where the gestural qualities of your hand tend to stay as important to the finished piece. Thanks again, -Dennis
