The filter is plastic, having plastic sitting in water is not good. Also the straw and other things are plastic and come into contact with the contents. Also, filters grow mold because they're always wet. One would be better off getting a 100 % stainless steel bottle and stainless steel cap and filling it with distilled water. Otherwise, it is no good.
