Amazing instrument, by the way!
-
It's actually sloppy, if you listen to the 16th note passages. Latry would never do that.
I have to agree that it is more about showmanship than about the mysticism of Messiaen's "Word made flesh." It sounds more like a French toccata instead of the ending of Messiaen's meditation on the mystery of the incarnation.

Flawless Performance / Perfect Tempo / Musically a treat for the ears and soul. Thank you.

The notes are there, just no emotion... Sorry...
-
This is VERY well played. It sounds almost exactly like Messiaen's recording of the same on EMI.
-
It seems that there is a consensus. To me, there is a lack of poignancy--just washing over the notes, not listening to what they may say.

@SPRutt68 : just the final section is too fast ? Nooooooo! It's all too fast, and without any soul. Bad.
-
yes, I agree with doolaga and lightandgold, of course. Anna should try to understand music, better than just enjoying virtuosity. Bad interpretation.
-
Because it was nasty and uncalled for - particularly the bit about the chopsticks. You don't like the interpretation? Fine! Express yourself but don't be so flipping nasty.
Nice playing but a little fast for my taste!
