This is so righteous in so many ways. No wonder why playing in the corner of a room at Handpangea threw you off. It was not the plethora of unfamiliar instruments. It was the lack of the cadence of nature (even the included industrial human nature : ) Your best work, to my ears, is your free style, in the moment, swimming in the sound current.
This is not a "break" for the soul but nourishment. It is the vitality of life.
