Guy Fieri from Food Network takes his show to LA Pines Restaurant in Slidell, Louisiana. LA Pines sits right under the city's famous water tower, and has been a popular place for locals to enjoy cajun and southern-style cooking! LA Pines was featured in the episode "Signature Sandwiches".
That corn pudding sounds awesome, but I hate spicy food.

I remember seeing this...I was watching it at home 1 mile from LA Pines..funny thing is I've never heard of a prime rib po-boy or fresh shucked corn pudding in the 25 years I've lived in Slidell and have frequented LA Pines. Seems to me this was a glorified "put-on" - also, since this aired, it's NOT the same there anymore:(

I just love watching this show. There is really only a handful of current shows I like but this one rocks. I also like No Reservations with Anthony B. I wish the Two Fat Ladies were still around; It was a cool show as well. Most cooking shows focus on just mixing ingredients pre-measured neatly in little glass sterile bowls, boring. The more successful ones not only do the ingredients mixing thing but also make it about experiencing the people, overall processes, and the interesting places.

Is the prime rib po-boy served all the time? I could not find it on the menu anywhere. Sounds delicious and we will be in that area first part of June and would love to come to the restaurant.
