The Revolutionary War Veterans Association presents the Appleseed Project at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, NM on September 19-20, 2009. Come and learn the techniques that enabled the colonists to beat the British Regulars from Concord back to Boston on April 19, 1775. Graduate from a Cook to a Rifleman by perfecting techniques that will allow you to consistently shoot with accuracy to 500 yards. Hear history that you never heard in school, meet great people, have an incredible time at one the most beautiful ranges in the country, and be proud to be an American again!

The RWVA is a non-profit organization teaching weekend rifle marksmanship classes around the country. The cost is $70 for the weekend when you pre-register, and women, active duty military and those under 21 are free. Whittington does charge an additional range fee of $15 per person per day.

Attach a sling to your rifle and sight it in to 25 yards. If you are relatively new to shooting, or you have a new rifle, please take the time to familiarize yourself with making the rifle safe and practice loading and unloading under safe conditions. Bring your rifle(s), sling, at least 500 rounds of ammo, extra mags, ear and eye protection, a shooting mat or ground mat, ear and eye protection, food and water AND a teachable attitude! And have the time of your life! No matter your skill, everyone learns something new and everyone improves.

Please visit our website at http://www.RWVA.org for more information, to see our Nationwide schedule of events and to sign-up online.

  • Simply put, a Rifleman is an individual who possesses knowledge about the founding of our country, the ability to shoot a rifle safely and effectively out to 500 yards. An Appleseed Rifleman is the closest living relative of those Riflemen who stood for Liberty some 230 years ago.

Our hope is that you to join the Appleseed volunteers.

See you all in Sept.19-20 here at the NRAWC!

  • You're obviously not an American or you would give a f - - k about it's history. As far as you shooting "more properly and more accurately"" is only proof you don't care about history. Check out our score card.........."Really".........

  • Hope to try this out next year :) There's one going on right now

  • @Bi0mesis02 the full correct quote is, "Simply put, a Rifleman is an individual who possesses knowledge about the founding of our country, the ability to shoot a rifle safely and effectively out to 500 yards." Showing your ignorance for something you know nothing about is funny though. From your attitude you probably couldn't last or meet the requirements to become a Rifleman anyway.

  • I attended this course with a group of boy scouts and it was fun and imformative. I appreciated the patriotism the instructors demonstrated with a passion. I will attend this again but qualifying is certianly a good challenge. Thank you to the RWVA and it's instructors.

  • @tackanderson What you mad now?

  • Come join us again on April 17-18, 2010!

  • I'd love to see a DVD of the course given at The Whittington Center.

  • "a Rifleman is an individual who possesses knowledge about the founding of our country."

Really? What if I don't give a fuck about your history and is still able to shoot way more properly and accurately than you?
