@Snoobula Two of my other favorites were, 'THE JUNGLE BOOK', and, 'SAHARA'..

Excellent question!

@chkjns That score for Hitchcock's 'SPELLBOUND' was to die for..! Men like him are the unsung and unseen movie stars! Be it Max Steiner, Elmer Bernstein, or, Bernard Herrman..!

cont'd......intrigued by the music he had heard (Korda had secretly had Rózsa write an entire score for the film, Berger began asking 'what's that song' & on and on. He told Rózsa he was wasting his time, the film score was already written. But, he became so impressed by Rózsa's music, Berger dismissed Strauss & his entire film score the very next day ! ! !
My channel's a library/archive of the best music on earth, 12000 songs, 550 playlists, lists for every year since 1900 - added this to 1940

This sounds a lot like Ottorino Respighi's music. I wonder if Dr. Rozsa was influenced by him.
-
That's what we called music from the motion pictures! That spelled ADVENTURE..!

From the 1940 version of the movie The Thief of Bagdad. Rosza is truly a genuis composer. Thanks for this uploading this treasure.

I want to say that Rosza's 'Entry into Palernstine' and 'Mother's Lament' from the film Ben Hur are two of my favourite pieces- beautiful and emotional......Big Thanks to this man...Alan Elliott
@zipper179 And HOW! I just read a review that said this film score was as important as the dialogue in creating the fantasy that gives this film its lasting appeal & Rózsa was nearly passed over by this film's director! The music director went to producer Korda after hearing the Strauss score commissioned by the director, declaring it 'impossible'. Korda then put Rózsa with a piano in the office next to director Berger's, ordering him to 'Play as loud as you can!' Berger came in 3 days later ...

I could not have expressed myself with greater reverence for these "unsung and unseen movie stars"!
