Members of an isolated Amish community in eastern Ohio fear long prison sentences for 16 community members convicted of attacking other Amish and cutting their beards and hair.

Cutting a man's beard off is pretty rude, but giving them anything remotely close to a long sentence is ridiculous. They consistently release pedophiles and hardcore criminals, yet the forcible removal of beards is clearly a national threat.

so you get more time in jail for cutting off a beard than you would if you raped someone? the average rapist gets 11 years and they said that one guy is getting 15 years? I seriously have not figured out our justice system.

This is crazy 7 to 15 years for what. This is wasting tax payers billions of dollars each year. Go after the real criminals. Leave people that make little mistakes alone. Man they could have given them mandated community service. This sounds like like something you hear from North Korea or a dictatorship from a third world country. This is what you call the "Over-Crimilization" of Americans. Individuals that are law abiding citizens that have no criminal record are being put in jail for silly things. An older gentlemen was put in jail for not having the right paper work for a flower he was selling. Kids at the age of 7 or younger are being handcuffed put in jail for getting in a fight at school or having a tantrum. And because of this their records are messed up for life

This is the definition of "OverCrimilization" of Americans. New laws are coming out all the time now that put people in jail that are not trying to commit any crimes. For example a older gentlemen was put in jail for not having the right paper work for a flower he was selling. Their putting people in jail for silly things and wasting tax payers money. Billions each year are wasted
