@staunchmike It is my understanding that even in Korea the work Kata is used, as TKD is both Korean and Japanese. As for making it look cool, if you will notice she is not in a proper doh bohk but rather demo gear. Her job is too look cool. Now if she can generate any power with thous kicks then weather she is doing it to look cool or "ingrain it into her soul" doesn't mater. She can hurt her enemy.

it is called artistic tae kwon do kata so, it's not the correct form (in one or more ways it has been changed). they pretty much just going wild with the steps in a kata to show artistic and physical abilities
i love it how americans doing a Korean martial art use the japanese word "kata". if they cant get thta right then it shows why they cant get the techniques right either. and then instead of practicing the pattern to ingrain the moves into their very soul, they just do it so it looks "cool". this is typical american bastardisation that they do to anything they come into contact with.
