Jeremy Koehler, member of the M-HEAL explains the challenges facing University of Michigan students trying to develop a remote stethoscope that would electronically record heart-sounds of patients in rural part of Guatemala and send them to a Guatemala City hospital. The stethoscope could eventually save lives or prevent major complications for infants born with congenital heart defects.
