@ sharpshooterrn I don't believe the 30-06 is way overkill for deer. It does a fine job at taking deer down clean and ethically. Although, I have seen deer, (even doe) take a 30-06 to the bread basket and run. Normally not more than 100 yards, but I prefer the 1 shot drop as in the video. Plus, a 30-06 vs bigger bodied deer as in the Northern U.S. and Canada, is about as low as I would go in calibers honestly for them. The .243, 30-30, and the .308 are fine as well for deer, none are overkill.

i use a .270 myu dad uses a 300 ultra mag they both drop deer in tracks and 30.06 is fine for deer
