Eggs can contain bacteria called Salmonella enteritidis that cause foodborne illness or food poisoning. In fact, eggs cause 3 out
of 4 cases of Salmonella illness.
Pasteurizing eggs omits Salmonella and makes them safe.
Eggs can be pasteurized in their shells through a special process. The eggs take a warm bath. It doesnt cook them, but it destroys germs.
How about we buy our eggs from people who raise them on a pasture so we don't have to worry about salmonella.

I must apologize to the Davidson SafeEgg company. It doesn't matter if their process destroys the enzymes. If one cooks the egg, they will be destroyed anyway. As long as Big Government doesn't pass a law that only Pasteurized eggs can be sold, like they did with milk, then I don't have a problem with SafeEggs. So what if they are "dead", most people will "kill" them anyway. But I won't use them, since I use raw eggs in smoothies.

Louis Pasteur originally developed the process for wine. Companies adopted it for other products after his death.
Nice to see all these knowledgable comments by these health-minded people.

When the egg recall first surfaced, I e-mailed the Davidson company asking if they have researched the enzyme destruction that their process probably causes, and if they would tell me what temperature they use to Pasteurize their eggs. If their process does no harm to the enzymes, I'm sure surprised they haven't replied to my inquiry by now. As far as I'm concerned their eggs are virtually "dead", like most other Pasteurized products, including "whole" milk. "Life comes only from life."

People have got to quit large scale food production. I buy farm fresh eggs and haven't had a problem digesting eggs since! The pasteurization process removes the enzymes that your body needs to digest the proteins and fats in the egg! Not only that, but did you know that salmonella is hardly present at all when chickens are raised the way they're supposed to be, not in cages on grain all their lives? True! How sad that the greatest country in the world has done such crap to our food sources.

I don't suppose egg pasteurisation has anything to do with profit, has it ?

This is fantastic!
Foodborne illness from salmonella is serious business, especially for kids and people with immune system disorders.
Avidin in raw eggs keeps the body from absorbing biotin. Since these eggs are heated, the biotin is more available.

STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! I can not express enough how VIAL the process of pasteurization is! Say good by to biotin and your fucking hair if you want to eat this shit! Look up the nutritional facts of a raw egg v.s. the statistics on salmonella and help fight this stupidity now!
