I wonder how long you waited for the engine start?
takes a good hour to run through pre-start before you can push start button.

About a minute because we were in the workshops and not moving the locomotive. In normal operation I think there are a series of start up checks and procedures that have to be made when a loco is in use.

He told ya the red button was to shut it off, yet you start then press the red kill switch. Listen to what he's telling saying. Cool experience none the less

We were on an official railfan tour from Halifax to VIA's Montreal Maintenance Centre and had purchased all the required safety equipment. VIA was absolutely outstanding.
