  • I wonder how long you waited for the engine start?

    takes a good hour to run through pre-start before you can push start button.

  • About a minute because we were in the workshops and not moving the locomotive. In normal operation I think there are a series of start up checks and procedures that have to be made when a loco is in use.

  • He told ya the red button was to shut it off, yet you start then press the red kill switch. Listen to what he's telling saying. Cool experience none the less

  • I agree, but I wasn't starting the locomotive - just doing the filmimg!!

  • We were on an official railfan tour from Halifax to VIA's Montreal Maintenance Centre and had purchased all the required safety equipment. VIA was absolutely outstanding.
