I grew up in Eden, and was always amazed at the attitudes and beliefs of pro logging people. Just looking at the comments now, I must admit I am suprised, in the face of all the information there is, that these people still say the same things. And this crap about "they are going to rot anyway so why not cut them down and let small trees grow??" Do they actually believe that? Perhaps these people would like to prematurely destroy themselves, for they will also rot eventually.

It is one tree. Clealy the two halves have just been reversed so that they fit "top and tail" in the truck's trailer.

that is not one tree they are diffrent sizes they maybe the same species but that is going for timber not woodchips

I hope the forests in this area get the protection they deserve. The loggers will take every last old growth forest tree if they are allowed to, it nearly happened with our beautiful Sequoia sempervirens. I am NOT saying logging is bad. I live in a house made of wood and read books of paper. But scientists have made it very clear that climax and old-growth forests sustain more life that plantation forests do; we need to preserve the old growth
