Honestly, what is wrong with you people who choose bottled water over tap water? Isn't it just because of the chlorine that is used in tap water that makes it taste bad? If so, you can just use a water filter, or someone suggested if you left out water for a day, the chlorine will evaporate or something like that.
I can understand that people would prefer coke over water because coke has an actual taste, but disposable water bottle? How can you like ripping yourselves off of your money?

Duh - people drink stuff from bottles instead of faucets for the same reason they use cell phones instead of land lines- they like the convenience of taking it with them. All their other answers are programmed responses trained into them my advertising and marketing gurus.

You address the question of why people choose to drink bottled water if they could drink tap water, how about why they choose other bottled drinks, such as Coca-Cola, Stella Artois and Chivas Rega instead of tap water. These also come in bottles, coke usually comes in plastic bottles which are also unrecyclable. These waste the same recourses as bottled water, and many of these are also unessecary. Other bottled drinks also take more water and energy to produce.

All I know is that water from a bottle tastes a lot better than from the sink. I would rather have good tasting water than worry about the environment.

Yes! One of the BEST things you can do to acquire the purest water - take it from the air.

i use RO and love it cheap and endless no more waiting for the water filter

Tap water is not necessarily better, that is a fact. Most brands of bottled water can be recycled. Plus, its very fashionable to drink bottled water. My cats also prefer bottled water to tap water, its strange that they pick that over tap water....
Whoever is saying that RO will leach minerals from your body does not know what they are saying. That is a flat out myth. A study done with injecting distilled water into people showed that people will shed small amounts of calcium when INJECTED with distilled water NOT RO. So if your injecting yourself with distilled water then hey you may want to be careful ;)You get over 99% of your minerals from the food you eat. Just the facts!
