@Bezwaar123 America can get all our energy from renewables. There have been many studies done about it and obviously you have not read them. If what YOU say is true, then we are really in trouble, because oil is going to RUN OUT in 20 years or so. Then what will you do? You can't "need" something that is finite and that will run out. It just means you can't think of anything else.

wake up people, obama is letting this disaster go unchecked as an excuse for a government takeover of the energy sector, then they'll force us to buy those thimble-size cars that run on mexican bean farts & can't go more than 5 miles from home so forget about commuting & polluting to work so we'll all be on the dole which is exactly what they want & the soup queues will be fed on toxic imported chinese swill while the illegal immigrants live in what used to be our houses on cheap govt mortgages

Your insinuation that America should stop drilling is based on the flawed assumption that it can get all its energy needs from renewables. This is not based in reality. America needs to continue to drill for oil, as well as create new nuclear power stations and make better use of renewables, such as solar and tidal. Furthermore, by not utilising American resources, fewer jobs will be created and there will be a greater dependency on countries like Saudi Arabia.
