"We are blind to discrimination we don't feel." The best quote about any discrimination and people that claim it doesn't exist.

Men will never understand what it's like to be a woman, in this day, or any day. They will never understand our oppression and what we've been through. Their minds cannot and sadly, probably never will fathom our pain and the knowledge we grew from it.

Sadly the quote goes both ways, and not many women realise it.

higher suicide rates exist for men,

higher percentage of male population is in extreme poverty,

the pay gap is due to factors such as profession selection, dedication levels.

'We are blind to the discrimination we don't feel'- sadly not many people realise this quote can go both ways.

@panter82 ok mr. Gender Equality already exists today, and sexism is just an excuse for angry women. If you think women have the same rights as men in today's world you try living making 75 cents to the male dollar or even less if you're not white. YOU try trying playing a video game where it's not discriminating to women. YOU try to pass by the magazines and not realize the difference. Grow up.

Ah, well I don't disagree with you there. You may be thumbed down because of the baby-rabid mentality out there right now, with the attendant "Women can have it all" (whatever that means, for women or for men), along with the "I can have it all - and now I'm leaving work early again because my kid is sick/has a game/is an otherwise convenient excuse," blah, blah. ;-)

I miss the 1970s, when women did not want special favors.

Hmm, then why is there studies showing that female teachers give male students with lower grades than external markers?

I've never said that all women have children, I've merely speculated that since MORE women choose jobs that allow flexible working hours due to childcare, LESS women will be in higher positions in a company due to dedication levels. I think rearing a child impacts the future greatly, and intelligence is not wasted to up bring a descent human being. I wonder why I have been thumbed down extensively, no one has yet to provide any argument..

Just remember: not all of us women have kids. I cannot and could never stand the little darlings. And yes, I must admit that we seem to be in a pro-natalist hysteria right now (in contrast to the 1970s) and that a lot of otherwise intelligent women have allowed their brains to go to mush over babies. (Blech.)

Holy Spaghetti Monster, I am so glad that Patrick Buchanan has dropped off the commentator map. His raspy, wussified voice and fatheaded bad looks do not exactly scream wit, nor masculinity.

sexism (in the western world) is just the excuse of angry women towards men, it is not about gender equality (which already exists). A part from a few forever alone woman, people agree that a stronger patriarchal society is jsut natural. You do not go against nature, and the more liberal is a society, the more fucked up and unhappy this is. FACT
