Diyala Province lies just northeast of Baghdad and has been one of the strongholds of al-Qaeda in Iraq. Freelance Journalist Doug Grindle was recently embedded there with U.S. Army units. He accompanied the troops on several of their patrols in the rural areas of the province.

  • yeah, i was there when this video was made, and i know from direct expierience that we did alot to build that region over there. Unless youve actually been there than you really cant have an accurated image of what its like for the people there. All i know is that i spent alot more time rebuilding pumping stations and trying to get microgrants for chicken farms than "doing more destuction than good". Id would be wiser to get your info from being on the ground than the news, miranut.

  • insurgents would kill 20 iraqis to get a truckload of Americans. IF theres a chance we'll kill 1 iraqi civilian around terrorist we will make sure we don't fire till that civilian is clear or we wont fir at all if hes not. So what does that tell you.
