  • Ballet is a form of expression. Expressing yourself through a physical form doesn't make you gay.

    ugh.

  • I clicked on this thinking it was the actual NYC ballet co nutcracker production... your title is misleading, you should clarify that it is the YORKVILLE NYC company.

  • that was crap!

  • stop posting rude comments about this version of the nutcracker its actually very good

  • @VibratingHeart I agree! Some people have difficulties expressing themselves through words so they do it in different ways nothing more.

  • Ballet is just beautiful!

You can tell because City Ballet uses kids from SAB. ABT is doing a new version this year at Brooklyn Academy of Music, as, the Opera is at the Met. I can't wait. i ahve my ticket to see Gillian Murphy as the Sugar plum Fairy.

Now the have their own school (the JKO School). for kids. this was my role at Ballet West, but, when I danced with City Ballet, I only made it to the Corps and was not even close to this ability and extension.

For the first time, this year (2010), ABT is doing it's new Nutcracker. However, since the Opera is in the Met

they are at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). I have my ticket to see Giillian Murphy as the Sugar Plum Fairy, which was my old role at ballet West. I was also in the Corps at City ballet, but, not up to their quality.

I agree! It's just alot of people's ways of expressing themselves. Tchaikovsky himself expressed himself through music. It's interesting though The Nutcracker Ballet didn't come out to theatres till 1891. The Imperial Theatre of St. Petersburg had commissioned him to write the music for the ballet. Anna Pavlova was the first ballet dancer to glorify the role of Clara!

  • I love the nutcracker!

  • @Hotleather31 Huh. Oh well, it's not a big deal.

  • @PigPenguin91 Yes the Merlitons is set to the same music as Marzipan. Unfortunately I am not sure what a Merliton is. I am so sorry about that!
