I wrote a little python script that can(?) calculate primes. I wanted to see how it was running on my little OpenBSD machine.

The Palmax has been clocked down to 180Mhz (max speed : 266Mhz).

  • Hey thanks for your help with the Palmax (I was using another username), I thought that I would keep you updated: I managed to get hold of 1 of the original Floppy Disk drives, so it should be up and working properly soon!

  • @RetroBoy429 I would love to see your progress, be sure to get a good camera and film what you're doing with it :)

  • @LunaVorax At the moment, I have bought a PCMCIA Wireless Card for his Palmax (originally for my Toshiba but it doesn't have CardBus support :/). Now my CD Drive that connects to that same port has arrived and we've managed to get that working with his Palmax and my Toshiba. We're really close to getting them useful now, he's currently installing the drivers for the Wireless Card. :D

  • @OddMan360 Wow :o Does the CD drive is recognised at the BIOS boot or do you need to install some drivers in order to use it?

  • Hello again Luna Vorax, The Palmax is using a Belkin G wireless PCMCIA card, which soon , once i order a cd drive, or borrow off of Oddman, the drivers will be installed and ready to go. I have spotted the same drive as Oddman has on Ebay and if you would like I searched on the american site for: PCMCIA CD drive. Thanks for all of your help so far! P.S. I have now got Office 97, Abe's Exoddus and soon Doom 2 and USB Stick Drivers!

  • @LunaVorax The CD Drive uses drivers that are pre-installed on Windows 98. It says it's for MS-DOS and up. So now I just need to hear back from him on whether the driver installed. Also, the CD Drive doesn't seem to be able to be edited at BIOS, this is probably because it's not an internal port or controller and it only loads up once Windows has loaded. If you're wondering the CD Drive is from a company called PORT Technology, the drive doesn't have any specific model name on it. :/
