  • Oh and I forgot, do you mind me asking how old you are? Because I actually need one, I get lots of pain, but my doctor says it's going to be hard to find someone to do this operation on a twenty year old, though I'll probably be almost twenty one by the time I get it. Also do you mind asking where you're from, like what country? Because I read about the same laws but I didn't think it'd be as hard to prove it necessary.

  • @PandaValentine i am 23 and from USA, where hystos are one of the most over-performed procedures :P

  • I'm 15 and ftm and I just had a few questions. If I'm not sexually active and have no family history of cervical cancer, do I have to have a gyno exam? Do a lot of ftm's get this surgery? And is this surgery really necessary under my circumstances? I know I'm young, but I wanna know this early in the game.

  • @Skyhigh11995 you're okay for now, but once you’re 18-21 they recommend going yearly even if you’re not sexually active. i didn’t because i knew there was a low chance anything could go wrong, but it’s better to be safe. having the surgery is a personal choice. it depends on a lot of things, like whether you take T, whether you plan to be on it your whole life, whether it makes you develop pelvic abnormalities, whether having your own kids matters to you (by getting eggs frozen or otherwise).

  • @Skyhigh11995 yes you absolutely need a hysto! putting testosterone in a genetically/biologically born female drastically increases the chance of cancer! personally i would rather endure the hysto than have to go get frickin chemo. you are young it's not something i would worry about presently but yes you def need a hysto especially if you get on t. also if you want any grs, most surgeons wont touch you until you have had a hysto

  • @AceRiverLink it's actually hard to determine how much taking testosterone increases the risk of uterine/cervical/ovarian cancer, partly because so many FTMs do get hystos. to my knowledge, there is not much documented evidence, but if you have some, i'd like to see it (and forward it along to my doctors). yes, theoretically, T is believed to increase the risk, which is why a hysto is recommended within 5 years of beginning HRT., but the extent to which it increases the risk is undetermined..

  • @AceRiverLink i'm not saying you're wrong, but IMO, to say someone "absolutely needs" a hysto is a little misguided. the decision depends on A LOT of factors - i.e. how long someone is going to be on T (if they plan on stopping at any point in their life, having a hysto may not be the best idea unless they plan some other form of HRT after it) - and there is no absolute answer. i'm with you though.. i got it partly because i didn't want to worry about cancer or any other problems down there

  • You are so pretty! I don't mind if you were a girl! you are the kind of boy I would definitely go out with..!!! Gorgeous eyes too.. Big hugs

  • You've got pretty eyes :)

  • hey, how long is recovery from a hysto? how long did you spend on house arrest and then how long did you have to wait before you could work out/bike/go back to your normal routine?

  • Thanks for making me more terrified than ever about this surgery! I really do love the video and I'm thankful for the info you provided but the thought of doctors looking there or shaving is definitely going to shake me up. I have managed to suck it up in a lot of situations, but i know I'm going to cry in that one!

  • Thanks so much for this video, I am probably going to get one at the end of this year do to pain, I need all the info I can get on this sort of thing!
