  • 2:52 to 2:55 WTF!!! how many notes is that in three secs?! With two fingers?! The ultimate shredder: DJANGO

  • I sincerely hope that if intelligent, extraterrestrial life wanders into our tiny arm of the Milky Way galaxy, the first radio transmissions of music they intercept will be of Django Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli, Benny Carter, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Armstrong, and the rest of the musical pioneers of that era. If aliens' first impression of our culture were to be what plays on most radio and television stations today, they're almost certain not to waste their time.

  • Pičku koji doktori...

  • Oh how this music makes me smile!

  • @guitar19904 from who?

  • It's been said many times before, but this man was able to do what hardly anyone else could then or has since - with TWO mobile fingers. His exclusion from Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitar Players is one of the many issues I have with the list.

  • @rockerchica13 Yup, I know what you mean. I've thought exactly the same thing. However, I might be slightly prejudiced because I'm a fiddle player and Grappelli is one of my top heroes. :)

  • @toastmal

    it was a caravan

  • man Django was awesome...but I feel like Stephane Grappeli gets overlooked quite a bit. While Django's guitar playing was amazing (especially given the fact that he had only two fingers) it really was the pair - Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt - that made the Quintet so original and so revolutionary as a jazz group.

  • he lost some fingers ,saving his family from a burning wagon ,he is an inspiration , but as a guitarist , for me untouchable
