Word, I will start using it more. I have found it useful when short loops don't quite match up properly

Man, the su700 is tough to bang out beats on for me. I don't really dig the quantize and the fact that you can't (at least, if you can, i don't know how) quantize. I generally make most of my beats on other machines and sample them onto the loop tracks and tweak them from within as a whole. But I need to start making tighter beats on the composed loop pads.

I use to do the same thing when I first purchased the Su700...create beatz on the ASR-X or MPC and sample them into the yamaha. The quantize function will make a world of difference if you use it. It's just a button you push before you start to record...im at work right now so I cant get real specific without lookin' at the machine. Check out my basic beat creatin video...around the 2:10 mark I turn the quantize on. I think it's one of the three buttons to the right of the screen. Later

Nah, I know how to quantize. I've had my Su700 for about 8 years. I just don't like the quantize on it. I think I meant to say "swing" instead of quantize. I had a couple drinks that night. Haha thanks though

That swing adjustment is way different than it is on the Mpc. It takes a few try'z to really get what feel your looking for.

Yeah man. Do you ever use the groove/timing knob?

For years I didnt. That was my biggest learning curve on the su700. Now I use it all the time.
