Just finished installing a belly pan under the Fiero. It was shaped to match the contours of the front bumper and goes about 1/3 the ways back under the car. This covers up the rough contures of the bottom of the car. Auto manufacturers have only smoothed out the visible areas of the car and have done nothing to the underside. So this smooths out the bottom side to be more aerodynamic and should improve the mileage. I will eventually make a full body pan to cover the full underside but for now, I have the front done.

  • Cool stuff, use whst you got. Did it improve the efficency?

  • @WorkerBee2011 I only left it on for about a month because I took it off to make a permanent one but I never got around to making the permanent one. I need to revisit this again because now I do a lot of interstate driving to get to our new offices. Interstate driving with a belly pan would help a lot more than my old drive to work.

  • This Fiero is electric, there is no gasoline engine that creates heat. So this car can be completely streamlined with a full belly pan.

  • Dude, really!? Use better material that way you dont seem like one of these cooky crack pot guys that jerry riggs everything together.

  • I miss my Fiero SO SO SO SO bad. Maybe this is a good excuse to get another one!

  • I want my Fiero back SO SO SO badly. This may be the best excuse for me to get another one! THANK YOU

  • So will the aero gains outweigh the weight gain? How much compared to a motor does your battaries and motor weigh? This is cool. I like your idea. I had a buddy that turned a VW Ghia electric. Travis, you know who you are. I hope to see more videos of the electric fiero soon. Cool Cool.

  • please tell me you aren't planning on doing the back too! The engine needs that opening to cool the engine off. If you go all the way to the back, your gunna have major overheating problems. Good idea though, if your only going the front and middle.
