  • Russ Is a licensed Home Inspector in the Province of Ontario. His work keeps him in the Toronto Mississauga Orangeville to Ancaster corridors although I am sure he is capable to go anywhere in the Province.

The Ontario Association of Home Inspectors is a licensing and Insuring body that is working to improve the quality of personnel and training in this field. (OAHA)

  • David, you are grossly misinformed and ignorant with respect to home inspections.

    Everything you stated is incorrect.

Licensed home inspector? Licensing for home inspectors exists only in B.C. Therefore, Russ is not a "licensed home inspector". Russ is a member of NACHI which is an american outfit where you can get a number of certificates by basically writing unsupervised on line exams. Google it for yourself.

  • @THEALBERTJONES Thank you for your response I am dealing with the licensing issues, insurance and requirements in the province of Ontario.

I am personally sorry that I am so mis informed after the hundreds of home inspections that I have attended in the last 23 years of selling real estate in the west end of Toronto.

    Nevertheless I welcome your comments.

  • Thank you for your comments; the Marble sill plate was flexing and binding under the (aluminium) shower door frame. The wood framing below the door was covered with a waterproof membrane. Water was entering from below through adjacent ceramic tiles where tile grout had cracked. Russ and his diagnosis was very accurate.

  • Moisture at the shower threshold is expected with water dripping from the door when opened; dumb place to put wood trim. Your testing for moisture at that location means nothing. If the stall leaks it usually will be visible in other stall walls. Stalls usually share common walls with closets or other rooms, thats where the IR and moisture meter should be used.

    Are you a certified thermographer?

  • @dpylyp Additionally, I will correct you on your other misrepresentations:

Russ is not a member of The Ontario Association of Home inspectors: and

OAHI does not license, nor does it insure home inspectors. It accredits home inspectors with the RHI designation.

  • Thats a cool shower:D

  • That was just a horrible design.

  • @dpylyp You didn't answer the question, is he a certified thermographer and if so by what agency?
