  • Turn off "auto restart" in MMSSTV

  • @KF7PCL This was my first experience with MSSTV and I had everything set up as the default settings. I have turned off auto restart and changed a few other settings in both MSSTV and VoxRecorder. But thanks for the insight.

  • @FlatwoodsBushcraft

Auto restart is useful for very strong signals but bad for QSB.

  • @KF7PCL Thanks again for the help. I've learned a lot from this satellite and fellow hams like yourself. I'm planning on doing a follow up video on Thursday and go over some of the things I've learned and go into some things a little more in-depth. Stay tuned...

  • Hey, whats the name of other programm? Vox activated recorder?

Did i understand right, it start record if the squelch brake up?

    Where can i find it?

Sorry, for my bad english. :)

I wish i can recieve the Signal so good as you. :) This time, the satellite pass at night, so its low power mode i think. I got very bad signal.

    Thanks.

  • @Lohrbi

Yes it does pause the recording until a signal breaks the squelch and will only record when there is a signal present. One of the reasons I had such a good signal on that pass was that it was a pass that came pretty close to directly overhead. I think at the highest point it was at 86 degrees which 90 degrees would be exactly above you. The other advantage I was using an amplifier that had an 18dB receive preamp on it.

  • I use MMSSTV too! Good stuff.... Got my image a couple days ago... good stuff!

  • @FlatwoodsBushcraft Thank you very much for the link and description. I'll test it immediately. I think i have good chances to recieve the satellite good, my home is at 9.9752°E, 51.2781° N. So i have at least 2 passes with 70° up to 87.7° elevation per day. My problem now is, that the passes are in night, and the sattelite send in low power. This will change in the next Weeks... i can recieve then in the evening in high power mode. :) But i use homebuild crossdipole antenna for 137Mhz.

The name of the program is called "VoxRecorder" and it was designed by a ham radio operator IZ8BLY Nino Porcino from Italy. I put a link to the website where you can download it for free in the video description above. Unfortunately they won't let you put links in the comments. Just click the "Show More" button under the description of the video above and you will see all the links. Let me know if you have any problems with the software.
