We continue our series demonstrating how Streetman Homes of Austin, TX builds energy efficient houses that make a difference. Earlier we demonstrated how Agribalance foam insulation outperforms traditional fiberglass insulation, and we took you into an attic to show you what an open cell foam insulated attic looks like.
In this video, Bob Brock and Craig Bushon tell you exactly why it is so important to properly insulate your attic, and explain how this will help your HVAC system run better, cleaner and more efficiently.
d1incharge,
Good questions! I have contacted the manufacturer of the foam, and Streetman Homes and asked them to respond. In addition, we are going to address your very questions, live on our radio program Sunday morning on ESPN Austin. I invite you to call in and be a guest and pose your questions on the air.
Let me know,
Steve

Is anybody dumb enough to believe that if you condition more air(attic) Install a substandard R-Value (R-19) Increase the surface area of your envelope (the hottest surface btw) that you can DECREASE the size of your hvac??? I would bet everything that if you would; install the air handler inside the house ; seal the ceiling(so that you arent cooling your attic) and install over twice the R-value for half the cost(any loose-fill), it would bring down costs, and consume less vs. your setup.
