  • I sincerely apologize for any unpleasantness you have about euthanizing voles. Here in Nebraska it is law, you cannot translocate them - which leaves two options. One is releasing them in the exact spot where they were trapped which does not solve the problem of the damage they cause or euthanizing them. The specialist is merely pointing out one of the ways to do that.

  • Check my vole baby video: fbVLytZLBHw

  • plastic V mouse traps with a little peanut butter --- than trash the voles in the garbage.

  • i just use mouse traps...that seems to work good, or my dog eats them too

  • just watched some electric zap mouse traps,,,,,, in my vole war,,, i see they can detect any disturbance to there tunnels and move on or worse move deeper,,,,,i want to poke a hole,,, pencil size with a "hot" wire protruding into the tunnel and when they contact it get zapped.,,,,how i do that,,, not sure yet,, cutting off an ext. chord to expose the wires,,,,, would the end be hot and electrocute? not sure if it's a closed loop,, i'm in the country,,, no kids and want to try this,,,any ideas?

  • @Kasumi0cada i don't think drowning works,,,,,, it does if you want to stomp the ground destroying, basckfilling tunnelsw so you can see when they make new tunnels,,,,, but i've not seen it work in killing,,, and i've tried many times,, they have new tunnels in a few days

  • continued..... i have caught 37 with the mouse traps,,,, but it seems over time they're tunneling deeper,,,,, and i'm losing track of where they're tunneling and going,,,, even though i know they're still there with a disturbed trap

these buggers are smart and devious,,,, it's a war,,,,, i set traps,,, they hit em,,, but kick dirt and my trap out the tunnel,,, laughing, mocking me and i'm in the yard yelling at a hole in the ground. finally i get a couple and rejoice and do a victory dance

  • are there different voles,,,, i'm in nj,,,, infested with voles,,, have tried everything and settling on pbutter mouse traps directly in the tunnels,,,,, i don't see them above ground or evidence of above ground damage,,,, we have probably 1000 tulip bulbs and other bulgs, tuberous plants,,,,, they take enuff bites to destroy bulb but then seem to move on,,,, they sometimes know traps are there,,, and kick dirt and trap out of hole/tunnel,,, or tunnel under creating a detour almost

  • That's a really great idea! I got a couple of feral cats, and turned my dogs on them too, but it's not keeping up with the problem so I may use this method as well...safe for pets and kids! The people that have a problem with killing them ought to just go out and ASK the voles to leave....I'm sure they would understand and kindly do so! Weirdos!

  • Yeah, that's right, let's just drown them. It's not like they have lungs just like us and would find that to be a truly horrifying experience.

You know, up until that point I honestly thought this was a good video.
