Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone! It took a loooooong time for me to make this video. I kept struggling with how to tell my story, but I think this was the best way. I'm glad it was well received. Part 2 will be uploaded tonight.

thank you for sharing your story, i like the fact that you're showing it isn't just a cultural thing. i may not be black but i have girlfriends who are and some of them think it's a white girl disorder. it's not. it's a disorder period, ana doesn't discriminate, she's all ages, races, sizes and sexes. thank you for sharing your story, and you look great. don't ever let anyone tell you differently!

really well done!

I feel so lucky to have found this video. I'm a black girl who's struggled w/ my body image despite being a size 4 for all my life (at my highest/"normal" weight) , and have dealt with anorexia and bulimia for the past 3 years. I've been feeling really alone lately and though I hate that all of you had to go through this, it's good that we do have like minded people we can talk to. Message me ANY time and thank you 160days2Lose2 for posting this

So excellently written. Definitely will be looking for part 2.

Amazing story. I was a size 1, then I went from that to 5. From 5 to 7. I lost a few pounds recently but my battle with Ana is difficult. My parents say black girls don't get eating disorders but they're wrong

its been exactly a year for me now. went from a size 13/14 now down to a 3/5. i'm a black girl 2 and was not born thin like most so i know how u feel. i'm proud of you for getting better because anorexia (mixed with bulimia) really does suck. what i think would help you is keeping a journal of positive things inside that you can open and look at when the anorexic thoughts start coming back. don't think me a hipocrit 4 giving you advice i refuse to take but if u want to stay healthy it works :)
wow... just wow ...I can't wait for part two. Your creativity never ceases to amaze me!

@kylanol Part Two is posted as a video response. I did both of these videos last year. I put in on my "front page" because February is Eating Disorders Awareness Month. Hopefully this will encourage others to talk about this issue instead of sweeping it under the rug.
