  • The original version of this song was written by Jacques Brel, a famous belgian singer.

  • I am quite certain that M. Wilson will never read this...but for all of you who come after this...I heard this song in 1964 by the Louis Bailly Singers, then I learned it was M. Brel who wrote it. 1974 was the year it received acclaim thanks to Terry Jacks in America. Such a song of joy and sadness shall not pass this way again in my lifetime, so all you young ones who find it, please appreciate the effort here. I thank you all...

  • @coolsweetgroovy: Why promote it any. He had song go viral that was recorded and distributed by a "nobody" label. When a song goes to 14 million in '74, that was like 50 today.

  • I wonder what this song would have sounded like if they had recorded it with Terry when they had the opportunity. This version just sucks bad. Too fast and no emotion in it at all.

  • why does this song have so many dislikes?

  • @Desiree50able I agree with you sis you go

  • i like the part where carl sings he forgives her though her lover was his friend.I know Jacks didnt sing it that way, this version is much better.

  • @coolsweetgroovy totaly agreed.......wow its you sis i didnt even see your name right away, iwas so blown away by the comment....were really on same page.

  • "Seasons in the Sun" is an English-language adaptation of the song Le Moribond by Belgian singer-songwriter Jacques Brel with lyrics by American singer-poet Rod McKuen.[1] It became a worldwide hit in 1974 for Canadian singer Terry Jacks and became a Christmas Number 1 in 1999 for Westlife. The Jacks version is one of the fewer than thirty all-time singles to have sold 10 million (or more) copies worldwide.

The song is a dying protagonist's farewell to relatives and friends

  • No, I don't like it. Maybe cause I grew up with the original version

  • Wow I did'nt know they recorded this song!
