Jacque Fresco is a self-educated structural designer, practitioner of science, concept artist, educator, and futurist. He is considered by many to be a modern-day Da Vinci. Peer to Einstein and Buckminster Fuller, Jacque is a self-taught futurist who describes himself most often as a "generalist" or multi-disciplinarian — a student of many inter-related fields. He is a prolific inventor, having spent his entire life (he is now 95 years old) conceiving of and devising inventions on various scales which entail the use of innovative technology. As a futurist, Jacque is not only a conceptualist and a theoretician, he is also an engineer and a designer.

His organization, The Venus Project works to provide a global vision of hope for the future of humankind in our technological age. The Venus Project reflects the culmination of Jacque's life work: the integration of the best of science and technology into a comprehensive plan for a new society based on human and environmental concern. It is a global vision of hope for the future of humankind in our technological age.

A major documentary entitled, Future By Design, on the life, designs, and philosophy of Jacque Fresco is now available at http://www.fbdthemovie.com. The film Zeitgeist Addendum featuring Mr. Fresco and The Venus Project produced by Peter Joseph was released in 2008. A sequel to this documentary Zeitgeist Moving Forward was released in 2011 featuring Mr. Fresco, his work, and direction for the future.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Truth is if u want to sit around doing nothing u can, bt eventualy sitin in the same rountine day in day out, will make u want to go outside and make more of ur life. Yeah we may all want to go play beachvollyball if the world were to turn out this way, bt the reason for us wanting to have a life of leisure atm is coz at the moment we are supresd with workin. If you had the oportunity to folow your pasions and be apreciatd for what you love doing without the worry of the cost of livin ud do it.

You don't understand that this idea is also based on automated labor.

WhyTF would there be labor camps?

Just watching something saying that society is becoming dumber, we as a society moving towards the venus project can help this and increase the learning ability of all people. It would be amazing if TVP was implemented, stuff the rich they don't control me or you. We as a group of people need to understand this and stand together. Stop people standing on you and tell you what you can do. Be a real person and stand up for the TVP we all can make this happen and we are stuffed if we don't.

they use automation. no one is in factories. this is ONLY about using technology in a way that benefits living standards. a cybernated government will keep things in order but WONT control peoples lives. Fresco doesn't want that. he wants humans and machines working together to imporve out way of life only

The only people that speak out against the venus projects ideals are the members of the surplus class that have a stake in the system, The people that stand to loose the most will always fight the hardest to discredit the venus project, They want to keep driving around in their BMW's and living in their mansions forever while everyone else pays the price for it, The current system is a failure and benefits only a few.
