Well @SilveryNiteWings23 If You go to the trouble&huge expense of building an UndergroundBase You'd PrePosition HeavyEquipment at VariousSideGallerys that had been dugout nearly to the Surface. Say within 100 feet or so. Then if there was a Collapse of the MainEntrance You simply DigYourselfOut through on of those EscapeTunnels. 3 would be standard but it could be as many as 6. Engineers are not Stupid & they think of these things in planning. British & Swiss have the Best Underground Engineers!
