Audio-tape FebruarySummerStreet mix 1987

Sorry for the bumpy ride and the low quality, it's filmed using a heavy ancient Sony Hi8 camera, which has no batteries anymore, thus a thick powerwire was pulling, plus it needed to live-export to my ADVC300, another wire going somewhere, so yeah:

I'm not as bad a cameraman as it looks.. ;-)

@MACKerMD2008 Ik heb bijna een veel hogere kwaliteit video klaar, filmen van een andere mix. En aangezien YouTube nu video tot 15 minuten accepteert lijkt het me logisch meer van onze BVD-mixen maar eens online te zetten hier..

Binnenkort in dit theater. Dus.

As a Latin kid coming from the Bronx New York, I had no idea these freestyle songs went past NY, Miami and maybe california. People are complementing your tape deck, technique, which is great, but the SONG SELECTION (january February is one most beautitful dub mixes) is superb and captured the true spirit of that sound at the time.

Thank you SO much for showing edits on camera for the first time. (Something I always wanted to see since 1986.

Indeed, me and my cousin bought ourselves broke on those import vinyls back then. Those were well-known tracks in certain circles, radio-stations and club-dancings over here. Basically, The Netherlands picked up music from everywhere all the time, it's in our cultural nature to do that, or so I've been told. Always a trading nation and stuff. But thanks! Now THAT was some good editing. Don't know what I was more impressed with: the number of splices? Or the surgical precision with how they were done. I thought I was good at cutting tape. But I wouldn't dare touch something like that.

One word for this mix "BEAUTIFUL" dude that was a tight,,,and i mean tight mix bro! Great job, i could not stop laughing when i heard and seen all those chops! Tape editing was and always will be Way ahead of its time. The greats back in the day were The Latin Rascals, Jose "Chep" Nunez, Carlos Berrios, Omar Santana, etc. Looking forward to the other videos bro! Much Respect
