Portrait by Louis Smith at his studio. http://www.paintaportrait.org Shows a charcoal drawing using a charcoal lay and then using conte pencil (compressed charcoal) cross hatching to create the detail in the face. I used soft brushes Windsor and Newton Monarch,
work well, I use different kinds of erasers, a putty rubber which can be shaped accordingly, a pencil rubber for highlights or detailed places, a stomp and a brush for l more subtle erasing.
I used normal Cartridge paper, I used Daler Rowney 130grm, nothing special
