Seems to me almost impossible that he could entangle his umbilical that way by accident, therefore I think it could be fake. Anyway, call me whatever you want, but i think divers should always have a regulator with the emergency tank and a mask in a pocket. That way in case of an emergency it would be easier to liberate from the umbilical, take off the hat and go back to surface. In this case, the hat and umbilical could have been recovered later. Would be cheaper than cutting the umbilical

Yes agree with you ddmh05, I've worked with him too. Quite the umbilical specialist! By the way....he hasn't got IMCA cert. if he told you that he's bullshitting! but then again he was good at that. He is working for some other outfit now...see how long it takes for them to see through him.
