  • Glad to be of some help

  • Incredibly helpful John, thank you

  • @jnkrlsgnzlzbrrnts My pleasure. I'm glad.

  • Thanks for this john. It confirms everything I've been reading the past couple of months. I've had knee injury for the past 8 months now and it's completley impacting my life in every way. I'm a massage therapist and was intending to study yoga but I have to postpone this until I have sorted this.

anyway. I've started clinical pilates and the general opinion was that I need to strengthen my VMO and stretch/loosen my ITB.. I will try your videos as well as pilates and let you know how it goes

  • @MissZenJen good luck!

  • Best patella femoral pain/rehab information I've found on the net. Thanks for taking the time to inform the layman!

  • @MrCencorot87 Do what your physio says.

  • @platerojohn to tell you the truth, I can't exactly located my pain even my physical therapy try pinching all over my knee to locate my pain but i dont feel pain. its only hurt when i try to straighten my leg and i can't feel it somewhere on my patella. its kinda mysterious pain. if i want to strengthen my leg at the gym like u suggested, how often do i have to exercise because my physiotherapist gave me do-it-at-home stretching and exercise and told me to do 3 times a day everyday

  • @MrCencorot87 IT is very difficult to isolate a particular muscle in your leg without affecting others. this is a big debate in the physical therapy world. My guess is your pain is on the outside or lateral side of the patella or knee cap correct? If so, foam roll your IT band like in the video, strengthen your glutes and try putting a ball between your legs on the leg extension and at the top of the motion squeeze your adductors.

  • hye Mr John Platero, i've been diagnosed with fps yesterday after 5 month on and off knee pain. my problem is, i've only had pain when I try to straighten my leg but not bending it. that's mean if i walk or standing too long i can feel it and after i play soccer i can feel it but not while i'm playing it. after i've seen your video i want to ask which muscle do u think i have to strengthen
