He wasn't always like that.

Before Namco gave the girls bigger boobs, made voice acting obnoxiously loud and mixed jedi in with perfectly servicable lore - all in the name of fanservice - Cervantes was a different character.

He was calm, composed and filled with melancholy. Sure he would spout about fire, death and souls, but he knew how to behave like a gentleman, dressing in ornate armors and speaking with lumbering tone.

Now he's just a sea weed ridden Disney impersonation.

For all the jack-holes who claim Cervantes is fr noobs; I'd love to see you perform half of the moves on here. Notice most of them end in JUST FRAMES. Cervantes can BE a noob character, but hes also a character that requires skill, a double edged sword. Notice this video contains no teleports, the move that gave Cervantes his bad name. this is actualy a good compilation of combos stop saying cervantes is cheap wana taste the real play of SC series? play SC2 and SC3 i'm realy piss to learn that guard impact is going to be removed from game mechanics i mean thats when you relly see whos a pro of SC by looking at a roud full of guard impacts in which cervantes and raphael really exel in past entries of the series so dont go saying he's cheap a noob character is kilik or talim

His gold bird-mask costume is straight from Soul Calibur 1, he's always been an undead pirate with a pistol in his oversized main gauche, he always said stuff like "Come with me to Hell!" and "I'll consume your soul!" or whatever, and he always had magical teleportation and fly-around-the-ring moves. None of this is new, he just has more detail in his clothing now.

@xblBanisheDFeaR When people describe combos in Soul Calibur, it is always done with A B K G. The reasons you don't say "X + B" or "Square + Circle" are because those buttons are console-controller-specific, they're not how the buttons were labeled on the arcade machines or in the game's command menus, and they can be reconfigured by the player. You had it right with "8A+K."
