I dont know what type of snowboard you were on but snowboarding is nothing like skating, but if you get a chance try it, the learning curve sucks as with any sport but it totally worth it.

yea i skate and snowboard.. its really much the same my friend just skates and the first time on his snowboard.. he nailed it (as in he did really good) if your in classes (snowboard class) they might advance you more cuz its preety simple.

Never tried skating, but I think it shall be easier...cause you're tied onto the board :D
