my father was in 11 of the 12 battles(wounded in the 10th so missed the11th)including solsticio.His unit was key in the conquest of Gorizia and said germans were there even tho they had no legal right and that is probably why italy declared war on germany shortly after.

@KSMBT4ever Interesting, so you share your superior knowledge. I am sure courious to learn what is written in Italian schoolbooks or even tought in history university classes about Italian politics and military action in WWI and WWII.

I know soldiers are soldiers and do not differ much in let say Europe. But how do your historians teach about the outstanding military successes in the last 150 years.

The average Italian male, I know, is so proud and pompous and I really have no clue why.

@schattensand uhm, you haven't a good knowledge of WWI.Did you think of Strafenexpedition?Piave's battle?Ortigara?Did you know the huge effort of fighting of one of the most difficult front of all the war?Have you ever thought about how difficult was to attack under an heavy machine gun fire in mountain?Italian soldiers are often misjudged,insulted and contempted, but in my own opionion,though I am italian, they shown to be as brave as allied one.By the way, allied troops on piave fled quickly

and awarded Italian soldiers after end of WWII or during conflict as it happened at Amba Alagi , not mentioning that the ONLY ONE battle won by Axis troops in Russia ( where the stinky german criminals escaped like rabbits in all ways ) , was that won won by unarmed Alpini corps ag. Red Army at Nikolajewka .

Italian Army won majority of 12 them and won the final one , true facts of history, not personal ridiculous statements , you only need to open any Elementary School history book and try to learn if you can ( which I seriously doubt ) .
