As you can see from this video, I am a huge fan of the Metroid series, having recently gotten Metroid Prime 3 Corruption. But we're not here about that. We're here about one of Samus Aran's older exploits
Super Metroid on the SNES. This game sees Samus return to Zebes in an attempt to rescue a Metroid hatchling stolen by those dicks, the Space Pirates, who want to make a Metroid army out of the poor thing. Samus wastes no time in getting to Zebes. We all know the Pirates aren't bothered by the Federation making an invasion on their turf. Its when the Hunter arrives that they shit their pants, since she's been making good progress in as Baro once said, "sending their plans to the WC".
I found the game very atmospheric for its time. there's a lot of stuff to do adn its always exciting to get new upgrades for Samus's Power Suit and try them out in various different areas that you've visited, adding to the longevity of the game. The Music is memorable as well. From Ridley's Theme (Timed Battle) to the Mother Brain boss music (Pirate Leader Mother Brain 2).
And come on, you knwo the Game Over animation is pure fetish fuel in this game, not to mention it gives away Samus's gender, not that its a secret now.
Anyway, here's the prologue, wherein Samus details her past adventures in Metroid on the NES and Metroid 2 on the Game Boy.I added some bonus commentary if you really feel like it. I'm not much of a storywriter, but if you think its good, then I'm chuffed as all hell.
