Remastered 2009 from Dexb. The Early Simple Minds:
Jim Kerr, Charlie Burchill, Derek Forbes, Michael MacNeil, Drums: Mike Ogletree. I think this sound kicks ass ;o I'm engaged with mastering since over 10 years, here's the result :) (Actually i worked for the best sound on the album sister feelings call, my ears not satisfied with the remastered original-cd. The first tracks are now complete. Why? Only for pleasure, you must know im a little bit crazy :p ) More Info? Ok , my last work was for the band Fix8:Sed8, i produced and mastered the new album (2009). the album called ''dormicum''. You can found a fix8:sed8 video from me on youtube. Update: You can now listen to my last work (30thjune2009) ''boys from brazil'' in my account, trust your ears :)

  • Hey Dexbam, nice remastering! However, a correction to your notes. The line up for this track from New Gold Dream 81-82-83-84 is Charlie Burchill, Mick MacNeil, Derek Forbes and Mike Ogletree (yours truly). Neither Mel Gaynor or Kenny Hyslop, the other 2 drummers on the album, contributed to this track and Brian McGee was not on this album. An easy mistake to make considering the hard-to-read-small-print of the liner notes and the different drummers the band has had over the years. All the best.

  • @blaxcot good to know, thank you very much! I've changed the ''infowindow'' now.

Mike plays wonderfull in this track, a great drummer. And with this album (a milestone) forever a immortal legend, my deepest respect and thank you very much for your words.

  • hey guys ;o thank you very much for your praising comments ! :)

  • Another great remaster, and this time a great video too. This has to be one of my SM favourites. We are so lucky to have this.

  • brilliant track anyway

  • I don't get this. What's the remastering? I know I'm being a bit fick sorry.

  • @blaxcot

straight from the scottish horses mouth! Thanks for putting things clear as, as you say, the sleeve notes were all too confusing! A great TRANCE tune... Metronomic but with swing... magical keyboards, tasteful guitar licks, trance bass... ALL a feast for the soul. From Argentina... GRACIAS!

  • Playing & production on the drums of that tune are so refined, so smooth,so efficient, so subtle, so groovy, so clever and my love of music is clearly related to these drums.

  • Yes!!

  • simply beautiful....thank you

  • @blaxcot That's interesting. I've listened to nothing but the drums on this so many times. What sort of snare is it being played in the main/verse part? It has such a cool sound. Love it.

  • I am so glad that I am not alone in adoring this beautiful soundscape. (When I was younger people thought I wsa a little odd liking this kind of stuff). The subtle keyboard and guitar effects are gorgeous, and of course the lilting drums and bass. Excellent work Dexbam. Simple Minds rule!

  • thank you very much for to musickkkkkkkkkkkkk
