What amazes me is that this was done with a real car and a real driver, he was paid £30,000 to perform that stunt, and completed it on the first try. Money well earned I'd say.

Yeah, but the testament to Bond's practical effects is that they're still actually doing all their own stunts today, when most production companies would just get ILM to do half the movie and call it a day.

I don't get why everyone's so worked up about the whistle. If anything ruined this scene, or the movie in general, I think it was J.W.

They actually did all the stunts in that scene without CGI, but I get what you mean. The old Bond movies have a charm that the new ones can't quite match.
